DLS Gallery Lite 1.1.0

Image albums, uploads, folder imports, grid layout, page navigation, captions below images and a lightbox with keyboard and swipe controls. Videos, masonry, justified rows and advanced lightbox/caption settings require Pro.

Download DLS Gallery Lite 1.1.0 (ZIP). Free, without registration or a download key. Licence: GPL-2.0-or-later.

Back up your site, then install the complete Lite package ZIP under System → Install → Extensions. Do not extract and install its child extensions separately. Follow the setup steps below using the available Lite fields. Fields labelled “(Pro)” remain visible and read-only.

Lite updates and upgrading to Pro

Check System → Update → Extensions. Lite updates are free and need no download key. The installer registers the Lite update feed automatically.

To upgrade, back up your site and install the Pro ZIP over Lite without uninstalling Lite first. Existing content and settings are kept; the installer replaces the Lite package registration and update site. Configure the Pro download key afterwards. Installing Lite over an existing Pro installation is refused.

Sichere die Website und installiere die vollständige Lite-Paket-ZIP unter System → Installieren → Erweiterungen. Die enthaltenen Erweiterungen nicht einzeln entpacken und installieren. Richte anschließend die verfügbaren Lite-Felder nach der Anleitung unten ein. Mit „(Pro)“ markierte Felder bleiben sichtbar und schreibgeschützt.

Lite-Updates und Wechsel zu Pro

Suche unter System → Aktualisieren → Erweiterungen nach Updates. Lite-Updates sind kostenlos und benötigen keinen Download-Key. Der Installer registriert den Lite-Update-Feed automatisch.

Für den Wechsel zu Pro sicherst du die Website und installierst die Pro-ZIP über Lite, ohne Lite vorher zu deinstallieren. Inhalte und Einstellungen bleiben erhalten; der Installer ersetzt den Lite-Paketeintrag und die Update-Seite. Anschließend den Pro-Download-Key eintragen. Lite lässt sich nicht über eine vorhandene Pro-Installation installieren.

Requirements

Joomla 5.4 or 6.x, PHP 8.1 or newer (Joomla 6 itself requires PHP 8.3), MySQL or MariaDB, PHP GD for thumbnails. The package contains the component, a site module, a content plugin and a task plugin.

Installation

  1. Install the package ZIP in System → Install → Extensions. The content and task plugins are enabled on first install.
  2. Create an album in Components → DLS Gallery → Albums, save it, then upload images or import a folder within images/. Set title, alt text, caption and order for each image.
  3. Publish the album and embed it: as a DLS Gallery site module, as an Album menu item, or in an article with {dlsgallery id=12} or {dlsgallery id=12 limit=8}.
  4. Set layout (Lite: grid; Pro: grid, masonry, justified), columns, gap, radius, navigation, lightbox and captions in Components → DLS Gallery → Options. Module and menu item can override each value; empty fields inherit.

Media and access

Uploads are stored under images/dlsgallery/<album-id>/; imported images stay where they are. Thumbnails (JPEG, plus WebP where GD supports it) are created automatically. Original images are public media files: Joomla access levels control the gallery output, not direct file URLs. Removing items or uninstalling never deletes originals; the editor deletes a stored file only after explicit confirmation.

Template overrides

Override the shared layout at templates/<template>/html/layouts/com_dlsgallery/gallery.php; normal module and component overrides work as well.

Pro updates / Pro-Updates

Open the protected purchase link from your purchase email. Copy its Joomla download key into System → Update Sites → DLS Gallery Updates → Download Key. Keep the key private. Check for updates in System → Update → Extensions. Albums, images and settings are kept during updates.

Installation und Updates auf Deutsch

  1. Die Paket-ZIP unter System → Installieren → Erweiterungen installieren. Inhalts- und Aufgaben-Plugin werden bei der Erstinstallation aktiviert.
  2. Unter Komponenten → DLS Gallery → Alben ein Album anlegen, speichern und Bilder hochladen oder einen Ordner innerhalb von images/ importieren. Für jedes Bild Titel, Alternativtext, Bildunterschrift und Reihenfolge festlegen.
  3. Album veröffentlichen und einbinden: als Website-Modul DLS Gallery, als Menüeintrag Album oder im Beitrag mit {dlsgallery id=12} bzw. {dlsgallery id=12 limit=8}.
  4. Layout (Lite: Raster; Pro: Raster, Mauerwerk, Blocksatz), Spalten, Abstand, Ecken, Navigation, Lightbox und Bildunterschriften unter Komponenten → DLS Gallery → Optionen einstellen. Modul und Menüeintrag können jeden Wert überschreiben; leere Felder übernehmen die Vorgabe.
  5. Nur Pro: Über den geschützten Link aus der Kauf-E-Mail den Download-Key kopieren und unter System → Update-Seiten → DLS Gallery Updates → Download-Key eintragen. Den Key geheim halten. Alben, Bilder und Einstellungen bleiben bei Updates erhalten.

Medien und Zugriff

Hochgeladene Bilder liegen unter images/dlsgallery/<album-id>/, importierte Bilder bleiben an ihrem Ort. Originalbilder sind öffentliche Mediendateien: Joomla-Zugriffsrechte steuern die Galerieausgabe, nicht den direkten Dateiaufruf. Entfernen oder Deinstallieren löscht nie Originale; der Editor löscht eine gespeicherte Datei nur nach ausdrücklicher Bestätigung.
