Photo galleries for Joomla: manage albums in the back end, upload images and show them in the layout that fits.
DLS Gallery manages albums right inside Joomla. Upload images in the back end or take them over from the images/ folder. On the website they appear as grid, masonry or justified layout, with a lightbox and captions. No CDN, no tracking, no licence server.
What you can set
- Manage albums with title, description, status, access and language; set each image’s title, alt text, caption and order.
- Upload in the backend, transfer large files in chunks or import existing images from images/. Originals are not deleted without asking.
- Lite provides a grid with columns, spacing, corner radius and aspect ratio. Pro adds masonry and justified layouts with further size and layout controls.
- Lite uses page navigation. Pro adds a more button, loading on scroll and lightbox-only navigation.
- Use the lightbox with keyboard or swipe. Pro adds background, opacity and further transitions; reduced motion is respected.
- Show captions below images; Pro adds caption design, overlays and display on hover.
- Pro supports videos with poster images, hover previews and playback in the lightbox.
- Generates thumbnails in multiple sizes, uses WebP where available and applies EXIF orientation.
- Embed galleries as a module, menu item or with the content tag {dlsgallery id=12}. Pro updates run through Joomla with a download key.
Lite or Pro?
DLS Gallery comes as a free Lite edition and as Pro. Lite is fully functional, with no time limit and no ads. Pro features are visible but locked in Lite and marked “(Pro)”. When you later install Pro over Lite, all albums, images and settings are kept.

Lite updates arrive through Joomla without a download key. Licence: GPL-2.0-or-later.
Installation
Install the ZIP under System → Install → Extensions. Create an album under Components → DLS Gallery, save it and upload or import images. Publish the album and embed it with a module, a menu item or the content tag. Layout and lightbox are set under Components → DLS Gallery → Options; module and menu item can override every setting.
Before you use it
Made for Joomla 5.4 and 6.x; tested on Joomla 5.4 and Joomla 6.1. Requires PHP 8.1 or newer; Joomla 6 itself requires PHP 8.3. Original images are public media files: Joomla access levels control the gallery output, not direct file URLs. DLS Gallery is therefore not meant for confidential photos.
